The opening words of the Declaration state that man is not an animal, but a human being made in the image and likeness of God, his Creator. Everything else we are promoting follows, and my belief is that people will be more convinced of the non-negotiable respect for the dignity of all human life, which includes not only nascent life but also especially the sick and the elderly in declining health, if they heard rational debate and not mantras or insults.
