Kermit Gosnell is convicted, Cardinal Martino states: “All who are horrified must now act.”

Kermit Gosnell is convicted, Cardinal Martino states: “All who are horrified must now act.”

What happens to a baby that survives a late term abortion?  Few abortion clinics seem willing to speak publicly of this.  Planned Parenthood officials have been filmed again and again (most prominently by the US pro-life organisation Live Action) admitting to leaving such babies to die, other pro-choice advocates believe the mother should be able to choose death for her surviving baby.  The brutal reality of such decisions has been well and truly brought to light, with Dr Kermit Gosnell convicted of three counts of First Degree murder of new born babies, one case of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of a patient, infanticide, racketeering and over 200 counts of violating state abortion laws for third-term abortions.

By “snipping” the spinal cord through their necks with a knife, Kermit Gosnell amassed his fortune, earning over $1.8 million a year from his Pennsylvania abortion clinic, a clinic that had not been subject to a ‘routine inspection’ for fifteen years, despite claims of tight abortion regulation from state authorities. Gosnell’s ‘house of horrors’ was strewn with bags and jars of disposed limbs and bodies.

Whilst this case was originally omitted from the mainstream media, perhaps for fear of predatory pro-abortion lobbyists, the United States of America is finally waking up to the gruesome realities of the abortion industry and must now allow a long-needed public discussion on a number of issues highlighted by this case.

Commenting on the Jury verdict, Dignitatis Humanae Institute Chairman Luca Volontè, said: “How is it that the jury, and the public conscience, can readily avow to the inalienable right to life of these human babies after delivery, yet approve their death in a similar fashion providing it takes place before birth?”

The sheer number of late-term abortions that survived Gosnell’s first attempts highlights what has been uncovered elsewhere, far more babies survive abortion attempts than Planned Parenthood would have the public believe.  What really happens to these survivors in every other abortion clinic in America?

Planned Parenthood had been informed of Dr Gosnell, yet chose not to act upon these warnings.  Will President Obama continue in his ardent defence of the abortion industry?  An industry that stripped of all its propaganda of ‘choice’ – is motivated by the desire for profit.

Speaking on behalf of the Dignitatis Humanae Institute, Honorary President, His Eminence Cardinal Martino stated: “It is with a deep and painful sorrow I read of so many young lives taken, in such an inhuman manner.  In our prayers for these babies let us declare a renewed conviction that all human life is invaluable and sacred, and take this truth to those who would still seek to justify this dehumanising practice. All who read will be horrified, and all who are horrified must now act.”

What they say about the DHI…

  • As the Universal Declaration of Human Dignity states: ‘the proper relationship between the individual and the State is the latter exists to serve the former and not vice-versa. This Declaration is based on a thoroughly profound understanding of the dynamic that to be politically free one must also be economically free; and to be economically free, one must be recognized as morally free. Otto von Hadsburg
